Father Christmas will be out and about in Maryport and surrounding areas in the run-up to Christmas, thanks to the town’s Round Table.
Volunteers will be escorting Santa Claus around the area for the 47th year, bringing festive cheer to all they meet.
Today, they will be in Flimby and tomorrow Elbra, Beeches and EFC.
On December 23, they will be in Maryport town centre and on Christmas Eve, outside the Cumberland in Maryport.
A spokesman said: “We are often stoped asked where we’re going and when and have many a chat on doorsteps where people have waited for us to come as it starts their Christmas.
“Christmas cheer thought the town is a fantastic thing and to see the smiles joy and excitement is amazing and makes us all feel warm inside.”
Over the 47 years, Round Table volunteers have collected thousands of pounds for local charities and organisations.
This year, the Round Table has donated money to schools for home learning, theatre groups to put on shows, sports club, Sea Cadets for sailing suits and most recently Maryport Golf Course for a publicly accessible AED.
The spokesman added: “Christmas is such a special time of year for everyone, especially after what everyone has been though.
“It is brilliant to be able to see people enjoy themselves and get into the festive spirit. It truly warms our hearts to see that we are a part of so many people Christmas traditions.
“At Christmas we all take the opportunity to reflect and give back to the community, taking Santa round allows us to see a wide range of people form a family whose child gets so excited to see Santa that they just stand in awe, jaw dropped on the step, to the elderly living alone who equally stand on the step, dancing away to the Christmas songs with a big smile on their face who then reminisce about when they were younger and Maryport Santa came round.”
