A property in Ambleside was broken into by burglars.

Police are investigating a reported burglary at a residential property on Hill Top Road, between December 15 and January 5. A silver box emblazoned with cherubs on the side and lid was reported as stolen.

Offenders forced entry to the property via a window. Police would ask residents to check their property is secure and to report anything suspicious to the police. Anyone with any information or who is offered a sliver box under suspicious circumstances is encouraged to report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit quoting log number 114 of January 5.

You can also call 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team are available to contact via 101 for anyone who would like further crime prevention advice.
