Glasgow Tigers will start the 2022 season with two former Workington riders in their line-up.

Craig Cook and Ulrich Ostergaard are actually among five riders who were part of last year’s set-up at Ashfield.

Cook, Ostergaard, Tom Brennan, Broc Nicol and Connor Bailey all lined up for the Tigers during a campaign that saw them go all the way to the Championship Grand Final before they suffered defeat to Poole.

Two members of the Pirates’ team in that decider have now made the switch to the Scottish club with Benjamin Basso and Danyon Hume heading north to complete the side.

Co-promoter Alan Dick said: “While rider continuity is always important, it’s good to refresh things will a couple of new faces, and in Benjamin and Danyon we’ve certainly done that.

“The average age of the team is down this year, with five riders barely out of their teens to back up the wily duo of Craig Cook and Ulrich Ostergaard.

“We think it’s a blend of youth and experience which can deliver the title for the club after so many near misses in recent times.”

West Cumbrian Cook, 34, a former number one with the Comets, is a former British champion and Premier League Riders champion, who has ridden in 13 Grand Prix events.
