Detectives involved in the search for missing Carlisle woman Sophie Burns are continuing to appeal to the public for help to find her.

The 28-year-old was last seen in the Dalton Crescent area of Carlisle on Sunday, December 12. She is described as 5ft 3in tall, of slim build with long brown hair. She was last seen wearing black joggers, a black hoody, a black Berghaus gilet, a black Adidas cap and white Nike Air Force 1 trainers.

Police say they have carried out “extensive searches in the Bitts Park, Sheepmount and surrounding areas in the ongoing search for Sophie”.

The investigation has been strategically coordinated by specialist officers and has involved searching specific areas, investigating and gathering intelligence, and working with partner agencies and specialist search teams, including dog units.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria police via www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit or by calling 101.
