A Cumbrian accountants firm has congratulated the achievements and work ethic of a student at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Penrith.

A-level student Hannah Bentley was chosen by her teachers for the Lamont Pridmore Business Studies Student of the Year Award based on her exceptional work and dedication to the subject.

Assistant headteacher, Allen Martin, who nominated Hannah for the prize, said: “Hannah was always an incredibly hard-working, conscientious and mature student. She always wanted to better herself and was a role model to other sixth form students. On top of all of that, she was a superb economics student.”

Hannah was presented with her prize of an engraved award and a book voucher by Trevor Iredale who is an Independent Financial Adviser with Lamont Pridmore.

Lamont Pridmore has a long and proud history of supporting students across Cumbria and has sponsored an award at the school for many years.

Chris Lamont, a partner at Lamont Pridmore and managing director of its offices in Penrith and Carlisle, said: “Hannah is clearly a very determined and talented student, who not only went out of her own way to succeed but also helped to encourage others to follow her lead.

“We are delighted to present an award to her in recognition of her success. It highlights the importance of nurturing future leaders within our community, who may one day work with us or support the wider Cumbrian economy.”
