A church is to be opened to offer support to people affected by the Walney School stabbing.
A 15-year-old boy was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital with serious injures after suffering multiple stab wounds on his body.
The boy is in a stable condition in hospital with injuries not currently believed to be life-threatening.
A 16-year-old boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police were called by the North West Ambulance Service at around 10.10am yesterday, reporting that a pupil had suffered stab injuries following an attack inside the school.
A 16-year-old boy was detained at around 10.40am close to Barrow train station.
In response to the incident, Spring Mount Church and the community centre will today be open between 9am and 10.30am and 1.30pm and 3.30pm, where people will be on hand for any adults who feel they would like someone to talk to or pray with.
