
Police and paramedics were called to assist a man who is believed to have been lying unconscious for six hours in West Cumbria.
Police were called shortly before 8am yesterday after concern was raised about the welfare of a man in his 40s who was found unresponsive and lying on the grass opposite the Oval Centre in Salterbeck.
Enquiries indicate the man is believed to have been there since around 2am. An ambulance attended and he was taken to hospital.
Officers were in the area yesterday as they carried out enquiries.
Those enquiries indicate the man collapsed after falling ill. As such, the matter is not being treated as a police incident.
