Scrap metal was wheeled away in a shopping trolley by thieves in Workington.

Police are investigating the theft, which happened on Monday at about 8.15pm at TMS Motor Services on Clay Flatts.

A quantity of scrap metal was taken from the rear yard by two males before being wheeled away in a small shopping trolley.

Both males are described as white, middle-aged and of a larger build, one of the males was wearing a green jacket and a grey or white hood, dark trousers and a facemask. The second male was wearing a light coloured bobble hat, dark trousers, a dark coloured hooded top and a facemask.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the area to get in touch.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PC 2755 on 101, quoting incident number 37 of February 8. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
