It’s been a massive week for the Northampton Town football club, who want to round it off on a high at Carlisle United on Saturday.
In the week of the club’s 125th birthday, important council decisions have been hailed as a giant step forward for the Cobblers.
For manager Jon Brady, however, the main focus is on the trip to bang in form Carlisle. He says the squad are under no illusions about the size of the challenge ahead.
“We’ve faced some tough challenges this season and Saturday will be no different.
“We know it will be tough but we are relishing the challenge and we will go there to attack the game to try and get the three points.
“Paul Simpson has gone back in there and they have won three games in a row. It looks like he has rejuvenated their players and I am fully aware how good a coach and manager Paul is.”
Meanwhile, Chairman Kelvin Thomas has been reacting to Tuesday night’s decision from West Northamptonshire Council cabinet meeting where members voted to approve the club’s proposal for the disposal of land at Sixfields.
“It is a massive decision for the football club and you cannot stress how important it was for the club and we are very pleased the decision was made. A lot of people have worked very hard to ensure the whole process was very robust and very transparent.
“The whole deal is structured around what is in the best interests of the football club and that is what we want to achieve,” he said.
