Air ambulance called to serious Wigton Road Carlisle crash

UPDATE 9.42pm: Man dies following Wigton Road collision

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious crash on Wigton Road in Carlisle.

An air ambulance is reported to have attended the scene.

Motorists are expected to experience delays as a result of the collision, reported just after 3pm.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Road closures are now in place on Wigton Road at Westrigg Road and the A595 roundabout at the edge of the city.
