Firefighters spent several hours tackling a wildfire on the fells in South Cumbria at the weekend.
Dominic Atkinson captured this amazing footage of the devastation on the fellside and posted it on to Facebook.
An investigation has been launched into the blaze, just off the A590 near Newby Bridge.
Just before 6pm on Saturday, Sedbergh’s specialist wildfire team was mobilised to a wildfire just off the A590 near Newby Bridge.
The fellside was well alight and crews were initially deployed to attack the flanks and prevent the fire spreading to woodlands and continued to fight the fire for a number of hours.
Specialist teams from across the county were also called to tackle the blaze
The A590 was closed for a period of time due to safety concerns.
A spokesman for Sedbergh Fire Station said: “We would like to thank all members of the public who raised the alarm and the local landowners for their assistance.”
