
A Barrow teenager has been sentenced to 26 weeks in a young offender institution after he was found in possession of a kitchen knife in public while serving a suspended sentence.
Luc Richards, 19, appeared before magistrates in Barrow on Monday and admitted the charge of possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place a day earlier on Cavendish Street in the town.
Richards, of Mardale Grove in Barrow, was serving a suspended sentence for a similar offence at the time of the incident.
The offence was also committed while he was under the influence of alcohol.
