A Carlisle man has appeared in court charged with rape and two counts of sexual assault.
Ryan Neale faced magistrates in Carlisle on April 6 and was charged with rape, two counts of sexual assault and blackmail.
All four charges relate to October 14 last year.
A further charge alleges that two days later he attempted to intimate the alleged victim.
Neale, of Lingmoor Way, did not enter a plea during the hearing.
The 23-year-old will now appear before Carlisle Crown Court on May 4.
He was remanded in custody until then.
