A search for the family pet who was thought to have gone missing after a West Cumbrian fire which killed a man and his 14-year-old daughter has been called off as it was confirmed he was also killed in the blaze.
Paul, 58, and Mia Scott, 14, died in the fire at Toll Bar Cottages in Distington in the early hours of Sunday.
The fire is not being treated and suspicious and an investigation is ongoing on behalf of the coroner.
It was believed that Ged, the family’s black Labrador, had run off and searches were launched to find him.
However, it has now been confirmed that Ged has been found in the house.
Distington villagers have launched a fund to help the family and have so far raised £5,414. To donate, click here.
