Brad Hubbold has become the second player to leave Workington and join Lancaster City.
Hubbold follows fellow mid-fielder Brad Carroll from Borough Park to the Giant Axe where they will step up a level to the NPL Premier.
Hubbold has been a popular member of the Workington squad for the last four years after previously played for Holker Old Boys and was briefly on the books of his native Barrow.
The 28-year-old had turned down the chance of a new deal with the Reds and is the third new player to join the Dolly Blues in the close season.
The former Barrow and Workington midfielder arrives and leaves the Cumbrian side after turning down a new deal at Borough Park.
City manager Mark Fell said: “He’s another addition we were keen to get into the club. He’s a clever footballer and has been used in a variety of roles and that will certainly help us moving forward.
“We’ve got a competitive midfield, there’s no doubt about that, but we’ve now got different types of players to ensure we get the right balance of attributes in different games, and having the players available to do that is important to any side that wants to be successful.”
The other signing Lancaster have made is 20-year-old forward Jake Connelly on a one year deal from Clitheroe.
Connelly can play anywhere across the front line and is a former England Colleges international who comes from a long line of footballing talent.
His grandfather was Burnley winger John Connelly who was a member of England’s World Cup winning tournament squad in 1966.
Prior to the pandemic, Connelly was invited to train with Premier League club Chelsea and last season was invited to train with other football league clubs.
