The Cumbria Combine birds, planning to race from Guernsey today, were held over.
Bad weather on the south coast meant it would have been unwise to liberate as there was no real improvement forecasted.
The weather isn’t really expected to improve much tomorrow with the rain forecast to move towards Guernsey so they might be looking at another hold over.
Monday, apparently, has been the best looking option for a couple of days now and it’s very possible they will stay on the island until then.
The birds – who have travelled with other organisations from across the north west – are well looked after with feed and water in the baskets on board the transporter.
More than 400 birds from Cumbria are in the convoy which left the county on Thursday.
