Luke Johnston wins Lorton Hill Climb trial

Luke Johnston won the Whinlatter Lorton Hill Climb trial organised by Velo Club Cumbria.

The prolific Johnston covered the 6.3-mile course to the top of Whinlatter Pass in 20 minutes and 54 seconds at an average speed of 18.09mph.

Johnston was 19 seconds ahead of Liam Martin in second place. Allistair Moffatt finished third in a time of 21:37 while Brian Payton won a tight battle for 4th place just six seconds clear of Sam Wedgwood in 5th.
