The Cumbria Combine pigeons racing from Guernsey again have been held over on the Channel Island.
Although the weather on Guernsey was good enough for a liberation this morning, conditions in southern England from Poole up to Cheltenham were poor with rain.
The forecast for tomorrow is better, although the wind is likely to have turned north west, while today it is a more helpful south wind.
The Cumbrian birds, about 350 of them, are in a convoy of around 1,500 from across the North West and indications are that the convoyer will be looking for a 7am liberation.
This will be the third race from Guernsey – bringing the curtain down on the old bird season – and two weeks ago they held until Monday before releasing, because of the weather.
