Carlisle United play their second pre-season friendly tonight against new-look Kendal Town.
United started with a 5-1 win at Penrith on Friday night while Kendal won by the same score against Thornton Cleveley’s.
Kendal chairman Michael O’Neill said: “It’s a big pre-season game for us and we are all looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m very optimistic about our prospects under Jimmy Marshall this season so it will be interesting to see how we shape.”
Carlisle boss Paul Simpson went to watch his club’s youth side in action last night when they lost 7-0 at Queen of the South.
It was a Carlisle team primarily made up of first-year scholars and under-16s for the visitors.
Although they had their moments in the first-half Carlisle’s youngsters were generally on the back foot and were 4-0 behind at the break.

Unfortunately Chapman blazed the spot kick over the bar.
Then Pope hit the post as the keeper spilled a flighted set piece from Hill onto his thigh.
United were made to pay for their misses when Queens notched two more before the end.
