Radio legend Chris Moyles will be on stage at Whitehaven Alive.

The DJ is bringing his new 90s Hangover Tour to Whitehaven Harbour on Friday September 9.

Chris will take the audience on a journey back to the 90s, and celebrate the musical highs of the decade.

Whether you sided with Blur or Oasis or put on your bucket hat and white gloves to go raving, this show leaves no musical stone unturned, and as always with Moyles behind the decks, expect the unexpected!

Starting his radio career in his hometown of Leeds at the age of just 16, Moyles worked for legendary stations such as Radio Luxembourg and London’s Capital FM before joining BBC Radio One, quickly rising to one of the stations most talked about and popular DJs.

Moyles presented the legendary breakfast show to an audience of eight million people for a record-breaking eight-and-a-half years and remains the longest serving breakfast host in Radio One’s history.

He currently hosts his own show on Radio X which began in 2015 and the weekly podcast of his radio show attracts over 500,000 downloads a month.

He is part of Whitehaven Alive, from September 9 to 11, featuring famous faces, live entertainment, food and drink villages, Cumbrian producers, and street theatre across Whitehaven Harbour.

The event, in partnership with Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners, hopes to welcome tens of thousands of people across the weekend and aims to boost the local economy and raise funds to put back into the improvements around Whitehaven Harbour.

Co-founder Oliver Hodgson said: “Chris’ vibrant and energetic approach will create an unforgettable experience. He’s an amazing addition to our weekend line-up of headline entertainment.

“His high-energy performance will make for the perfect weekend opener and will add to the already exciting programme. Our festival aims to reignite not only the local economy but also boost local morale. We’re expecting ticket sales to sell quickly for this one and would encourage early booking.”

Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners’ chief executive John Baker added: “What a way to complete the headliners for Whitehaven Alive than with a DJ legend.

“I cannot wait for Chris to kick off the first ever Whitehaven Alive with no doubt a classic set to have everyone in party mood to start what will be a fantastic fun-filled weekend.”

Scouting for Girls will play on Saturday, September 10 and the Untold Orchestra, promising Abba and Disney classics like you’ve never heard them before, will perform on the Sunday.
