Kendal Town are in good heart ahead of their opening North West Counties League fixture at Vauxhall Motors.
The club has booked a 58-seater coach for the team, officials and supporters – although they expect a tough baptism.
Chairman Michael O’Neill said: “We have had a superb pre-season with a great variety of matches against teams above us in the football pyramid and a couple below us.
“The manager seems to have settled on his squad. We had over 30 players used in pre-season and that’s now been reduced to 24 who have been registered.
“We will almost be at full strength for tomorrow but Tom Kilifin, who has shown his value in pre-season, is not available.
“That gives some others a chance to step-up and what they can do ahead of our FA Cup game next week.”
The Mintcakes go into the game on the back of an excellent 5-2 home win over Workington, who finished second in NPL West last season when Kendal were relegated.
“Vauxhall will be a tough test for us to start with. We know they will be well organised, work hard and like all Merseyside teams have a lot of football knowhow.
“We are all looking forward to it and as well as the fans on the bus I know a good few are travelling by car so we should have some decent support,” said O’Neill.
