The semi-finalists have been decided for the Cumberland Amateur Rugby League’s Amateur Cup after the mid-week matches.
Ellenborough, Distington and Kells A were successful in their quarter final ties while Wath Brow A got through because Cockermouth have pulled-out of their tie tomorrow.
Indeed the two teams should have met in mid-week for a Premier League fixture but again Cockermouth had to concede.
In their game Ellenborough had a contest on their hands at half-time when they only led Lowca 24-16, but they won handily in the end.
They pulled away without conceding another point as they finished the winners, 52-16.
The Elbra tries were scored by Kevin Hoban (3), Andy Ostle (2), Danny Penman, man of the match John Todd, Kian Dempsey, Kia Gilhespy and Jordan Ostle. There were six conversions from Jordan Ostle.
Lowca responded with tries by Dec McKenna, Mitchell Todd and man of the match James McNally. Jamie Scott landed two coals.
Distington took it out on Maryport after their recent defeat to Ellenborough and moved powerfully through to the semi-final with a 72-20 victory.
Kieran Worthington had a personal haul of 32 points from three tries and 10 conversions.
The other tries came from Jack Speight (2), Shawn Adams (2), Steve Conway, Jack Penrice, Jamie Friel, Stephen Clarke, Ryan Hodgson and Damien Blacklock.
Maryport’s first half points came from tries by Josh Pattinson (2) and Grant Underwood with four goals by Pattinson.
Kells A led 20-12 at half-time at Aspatria but eventually ran out 46-20 winners.
Kristian Beattie (2), Sam Middleham and Luke Day scored the Aspatria tries with Rocco Okesene landing two goals.
Harry Watson (2), Arron Burns, Brodie Rutherford, Dominic Weir, Clarke Chambers, Bailey Morton, Ryan Watson and Nathan Clarkes hared the Kells tries with five conversions from Harry Watson.
