Traffic lights and pedestrian crossings at a major Workington crossroads are currently out of action.

The traffic lights controlling traffic flow from Ramsay Brow onto the A596 are not working.

There was a minor collision near to the police station earlier this evening – it is not known if it is connected.

Police closed a section of the A596 for a time after the incident from the Ramsay Brow junction to the end of the Marks & Spencer car park. It is understood there were no serious injuries.
