Upper Eden began as they left off in the new Counties 1 Cumbria League season with a 62-5 home win over Hawcoat Park.
The Kirkby Stephen side had won the old Cumbria League with a 100 per cent record, and have started the new campaign with a County Cup win at Aspatria.
After a cautious start they got into gear with their usual brand of rock solid defence and lightning fast counters which brought five first-half tries and two conversions.
The visitors fielded a strong set of forwards who gave problems in the set scrums and scored their only try late in the half to trail 29-5 at the break.
It was much the same in the second-half as Upper Eden ran in five more tries, converting four of them.
Their fast, direct style of running rugby is winning more and more admirers while their solid defence and hard tackling are key components in winning games.
Hawcoat Park were never completely out of it with a decent share of possession but Upper Eden had too much class for them.
Richard Addison led the way with four tries and he was followed over by Joss Warren (2), Will Birkbeck, Matt Brass, Liam Fox and Ollie Bennett who added six conversions.
