A former MP has been appointed as vice-president of a vital West Cumbrian charity.
Sue Hayman – now Baroness Hayman of Ullock in the House of Lords – was appointed by Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
She was MP for Workington from 2015 to 2019, and served as shadow secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs from 2017 to 2019.
Brendon Cook, hospice chairman, said: “We are extremely pleased that Sue has agreed to accept our invitation. She comes with a wealth of experience and will, I am sure, be an amazing advocate for our Hospice Charity in the House of Lords.”
Dr Brian Herd, president of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “We are delighted to welcome Baroness Hayman of Ullock, as a vice president of Hospice at Home West Cumbria. We realise there are many calls on Sue’s time and we are honoured that she has accepted this role. We look forward to introducing her to the Hospice team and its many supporters.”
