In their open day to celebrate the launch of the World Cup, Workington Town announced three new signings.

One is a familiar face returning in locally-based prop forward Tom Curwen, who originally signed for the club in 2017.

Curwen, 33, has played over 30 games for the club but left last season to return to his former amateur club Seaton Rangers.

He’s pleased to have the chance again to do his bit for Town under new coach Anthony Murray back at Derwent Park.

The other two recruits are from the south of the county – Jack Stephenson from Ulverston and Barrow Islander Max Anderson Moore.

Stephenson, who spent 12 months in the St Helens’ youth section, played for the England Lions’ Under-20s last year when with the Dalton club.

A back-rower Stephenson will be joined at Derwent Park by the speedy Anderson-Moore.

Anderson-Moore, who has been capped by Scotland Under-20s can play in a number of positions but mainly centre or wing.

Town have so far confirmed 12 signings for their return to League One.
