A Cumbrian whisky festival featuring some of the world’s best distilleries is set to return.
Kendal Whisky Festival will go ahead on December 3 and December 4 at Kendal Town Hall.
The festival is being organised by Phil Walker, landlord of The New Union pub in Kendal, and Dave Pennington, director of Kendal-based coffee and tea merchants Penningtons. It is the second to go ahead.
A total of 40 distilleries and brands from across the world will be showcasing their whisky and festival goers will be able to meet brand ambassadors from them and sample their products.

This year, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society will be the event’s main sponsors. As part of their sponsorship, they will offer tastings, discounts on membership and an exclusive festival bottling of SMWS whisky.
Andrew Park from SMWS said: “It’s great to be the main festival partner of the second Kendal Whisky Festival. We look forward to continuing our commitment to Kendal with the New Union already an SMWS partner bar. Alongside the festival, we hope to make Kendal the capital of whisky in the North West of England.”
The festival is split into three sessions, starting with the first on Friday evening followed by Saturday afternoon and evening.
