A lone walker was rescued after they became injured falling from the top of a Lake District fell
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out yesterday at around 4.04pm to Glaramara on the Hind Gill path above Seathwaite.
The man fell from a rocky step at the top of the fell and was in pain after injuring his ribs. He messaged a friend, who called the police and continued downward.
On his descent, the man’s mobile reception dropped and the team found it difficult to establish his exact location.
The Keswick team sent out three vehicles on the search up the fell from Mountain View and Seathwaite. The walker was eventually located on the path and given pain relief and checked by a team doctor.
He was then walked off the fell and taken by ambulance to Carlisle hospital for further checks.
The incident involved 24 team members and lasted two hours and 41 minutes.
