Workington’s Cup form surpassed their efforts in the Cumbria League’s Premier Division last season.
The Valentine Ground side retained the Higson Cup and reached the final of the T20 but couldn’t trouble the League’s ‘big four.’
It was a theme taken-up by skipper Matthew Lowden after the club’s presentation night.
He told Cumbria Crack: “It was a massive effort to retain the Higson Cup given how we performed in the League.
“We know we should be competing with the so-called ‘big four’ but we are a bit off that yet and have a lot of hard work to do.
“That’s what made the Higson Cup win more special and was a brilliant effort by all the team.
“We are always up for the big games and we need to mirror that in games where we travel to places we should pick-up points. Nowhere is an easy win especially when we had such an inconsistent team.
“We also performed excellently in the 20 over competition, undefeated in six games but ultimately falling short in the final.”
Former player Ian Batty presented the awards, of which there were 12 and only one player picked up two.

That was Nathan Canfield who won the 3rd X1 bowling and also picked-up the Clubman of the Year.
Seasoned campaigner Adam Chambers won the first X1 batting award while one of the younger generation, Ben Scott won first team bowling.
Old maestro Paul McKeown is still turning his arm over to good effect and won the 2nd team bowling with Liam Hazzard picking-up the second team batting award.
Liam Irving won the 3rd team batting award.
Skipper Matthew Lowden, who has developed into a useful all-rounder, won the coveted Players’ Player of the Year award.
The best batting performance of the year came from Nick Wood while Dave Pearce won the best bowling performance.
The Ike Southward Memorial Trophy for the most promising young player went to Oliver Armstrong.

Regan Jackson won the trophy for the best Under-21’s player.
It was later confirmed that 18-year-old promising fast bowler Regan is to play in the North East Premier League next season for Gateshead Fell who are in the First Division.
The teenager, who was called-up by Cumbria last season, is looking to develop his career and gain valuable experience in the north east.
