Kendal Town have signed on loan a highly rated young defender from Morecambe who will go straight into the squad tonight.
Liverpool-born Louie Lancaster is a teenage centre-half from the Morecambe Academy who has been making a name for himself at that level.
He’s 6ft 3ins, an asset in both boxes and is already recognised at Morecambe as a leader who is renowned for his organisation and communication.
Kendal chairman Michael O’Neill said: “He’s a a player I know of from around the Academy scene and he’s joined us as we have issues at centre-half through injuries and unavailabilities.
“It’s a Macron Cup tie at Burscough and an ideal game for him to join the squad.”
Kendal beat Kirkby Stephen 8-0 last Saturday in the Westmoreland Cup and have been drawn at home to Appleby in the next round.
“They were the team that knocked us out at the quarter final stage last season so it’s good to have them back again.
“Our manager Jimmy Marshall is taking the County Cup seriously although he is rotating players as was shown on Saturday,” said O’Neill.
Burscough are next to bottom of the NW Counties Premier League 11 points behind Kendal and having played three more games.
