Former Edinburgh talisman Craig Cook is heading back to Armadale next season after a seven-year absence.

The West Cumbrian’s previous spell with the Monarchs coincided with the most successful period in the club’s history, including two league titles at Championship level in 2014-15, whilst since 2018 he has raced for their fierce rivals Glasgow.

His return completes the Edinburgh team for 2023 after they thankfully received clearance to continue at their home venue earlier this winter.

Cook said: “I am looking forward to it. Armadale has always been a great track for me, especially in 2013, 2014 and 2015 when I was really strong at home.

“I am looking forward to getting back that home track advantage and I am looking forward to getting back to using the technique more than it just being about getting the set-up right. It’s definitely a track that suits me and I am happy to be back.”

Cook, 35, started his senior career in speedway in 2009 with Workington Comets after third tier experience with Scunthorpe and Buxton.
