Kendal Town’s game at Congleton Town was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
The Mintcakes were told the result of the pitch inspection early afternoon and did not have to make the trip.
It means they should finally get a home game on Saturday – the first for six weeks – when Irlam are the visitors to Parkside Road.
They are a point and three places ahead of Kendal in a congested mid-table of the North West Counties League’s Premier Division.
Rain is forecast each day between now and Saturday, but with sunny spells as well and the Kendal officials are desperately hoping the game will be able to go ahead.
Meanwhile the club has announced that their Westmorland Senior Cup tie at home to Appleby has been arranged for Saturday, January 28 (ko 2pm).
This means that Kendal’s game at Winsford Utd, originally scheduled for that date, will have to be re-arranged.
