Barrow might be out of the play-off places but a 0-0 draw at leaders Leyton Orient stressed they are still very much involved in the promotion race.
It followed a fine 3-2 win at Mansfield last week and there could have even been greater reward from their trip to Brisbane Road.
They had a goal disallowed for offside and also had very strong claims for a penalty turned aside.
Manager Pete Wild said: “I am absolutely delighted with the way we played again. This was the kind of performance we were producing earlier in the season.
“Not many teams have come to Orient and got anything this season and I thought we were a bit unlucky not to get maximum points.”
Indeed several observers – both on the home terraces and in the Orient camp – thought Barrow were as good a side as have played there this season.
Barrow thought they had taken the lead on 17 minutes but Billy Waters was correctly ruled offside and then had a strong penalty appeal waved aside.
Bluebirds goalkeeper Paul Farman then had to produce two excellent stopes to deny Ruel Sotiriou and Paul Smyth snap-shot before he got his fist on the end of a dangerous 25-yard free-kick from Tom James.
Orient goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux also had to earn his money just before half-time when he saved a good effort from Ben Whitfield.
In the second half Waters and Whitfield both went close as Barrow produced some clever football and then they had to work hard in the closing quarter to see it through to the final whistle.
The home side also had two penalty shouts turned down by the referee when Charlie Kelman and then Sotiriou were challenged by Barrow defenders and went down in the box.
There was a sting in the tale for Orient as defender James picked up two yellow cards in three minutes for handball and then a foul so they played out the last few minutes with 10 men.
