A Lake District town’s Barclays branch is set to close later this year.
The bank said its Keswick branch, on Market Square, would close its doors for the final time on April 21.
It said the way people use banks have changed and 88 per cent of people who use the branch have also used its app, or banked by phone or online in 2021.
Only 11 customers use the bank regularly as their only way of banking and 25 per cent of the branch’s customers have used other nearby branches in the last 12 months.
A statement said it would stay in the community and be able to help with day-to-day queries and managing money, although people will not be able to access cash.
Details of how this will go ahead have yet to be confirmed.
