Promoted Carlisle referee Scott Henry.

Carlisle-based referee Scott Henry has been promoted from Level 4 to Level 3 as part of The FA mid-season promotion process.

Scott has been refereeing since 2008 and quickly became a Level 5 Senior County Referee with several rapid grassroots promotions in Cumberland.

He represented England/The FA at the London 2012 Paralympic Games officiating in a Gold Medal cerebral palsy final, and is also an active member of the County CORE Group that helps develop local potential, in addition to himself been a part of the National CORE Group for several years.

Scott Taylor, Cumberland FA RDO, said: “Scott’s promotion reflects his hard work and commitment to refereeing across the North East and North West over the past few years. It also reflects the on-field refereeing performances that he has displayed at Step 5/6.

“I am so pleased for him as I know he put a lot of effort and energy into gaining his Level 3, and this mid-season promotion is his reward for that.

“He will now make the huge step up to refereeing Step 3/4 football and act as an Assistant Referee at Step 2, which is semi-professional level on the football pyramid.

“I’m confident he is ready for this and will now push on and aim for further promotions in the future as I know he has the ambition and ability to succeed within the game at this high level.”
