Penrith picked up a good point on the road when they drew 1-1 at Sunderland RCA.
Manager Darren Edmondson, in fact, was a little disappointed in the end that they hadn’t brought home all three.
“It’s a difficult place to go with a slope which they are used to and is part of their tactics.
“They have some big lads and like to get the ball into your penalty area, so in the main we defended really well.
“Perhaps we didn’t play as well first half down the hill as we should have done and I think we are still lacking a bit of confidence and positivity.
“But we looked better in the second-half and although we were missing some of our regular forward players we had our moments,” he said.
RCA took the lead on 53 minutes through Alexander Nelson but Penrith hit back with a fine equaliser from Luke Hunter on 68 minutes. He cut in from the left and let go with a super strike into the far top corner.
Penrith currently occupy the second relegation position but have games in hand of every team except one – three or four in some cases.
