Barrow have cancelled the contract of defender Connor Brown on transfer deadline day as he looks for regular football.
The 31-year-old Brown had been signed by Ian Evatt just under five years ago and played over 100 games for the Bluebirds.
His hard-working attitude quickly made him a fans favourite and he was a member of the 2019/20 National League title-winning squad.
Brown made 18 appearances across the curtailed season, and netted once for the eventual Champions.
After being out of the squad for almost four months in 2020/21, he returned to produce a crucial Man of the Match performance against Forest Green Rovers to seal Barrow’s EFL safety.
All in all, the defender made 107 appearances in all competitions for Barrow, and found the net on two occasions, including the winning goal against Bradford City in 2020.
Barrow manager Pete Wild paid tribute to Brown saying: “I would like to thank Connor for all his efforts for the football club.
“He has been an exceptional pro throughout the time I’ve been at the club.
“Connor had a desire to go and get regular first team football, and I wasn’t going to stand in his way.”
Brown, who played 89 League games for Oldham Athletic, also spent time on loan with Carlisle in the 2014/15 season playing eight times.
