Carlisle United Ladies crashed out of the Argyle Sports Kit North West Regional Plate competition when they went down 5-1 at home to Chester Ladies.
In actual fact the Cumbrians couldn’t have had a better start when Chester gifted them an own goal after nine minutes.
But the visitors back in emphatic fashion in the preliminary round tie as the game was turned on its head by half time.
Lucy Adderley converted from the spot after Emma Gray was felled in the box – before Gray released Ellie Bradley to make it 2-1 after 41 minutes.
After the break Katie Priest made it three on 53 minutes with a scorching strike from 30 yards, before Gray tapped home on 73 to make the game safe. Molly Wood made it eight goals in three games late on for herself after being assisted by Ellie Bradley.
Chester now move on to host Tranmere Rovers in round one.
