Workington Town moved smoothly through to the third round of the Challenge Cup with a convincing 68-6 victory over amateurs Ince Rose Bridge.
Town, who had scored 58 points in a win at London Skolars last week, added twelve more tries with ten of them converted by Cieran Walker.
Coach Anthony Murray said after: “I was really delighted with the way we went about the tie. We were aggressive in defence and smart in attack, scoring some very good tries.
“There are obviously going to be tougher games ahead but we have started the season really well and are looking forward to finding out who we get in the third round draw tomorrow.”
The crowd of 603, which included a group of enthusiastic fans who had travelled with the visitors, saw Town build on a 28-0 half-time lead to clinch their place in the third round.

The opening try came on six minutes when Earl Hurst finished off a smart handling move as Town kept their opponents penned back in their own final 20 metres.
Ince Rose did have a couple of efforts at the home line but Town defended well and when they did gain possession again were able to build on it again in the 20th minute. Matty Henson dived through a forest of legs from a play the ball to get in under the sticks.

A driving run from skipper JJ Key set-up another promising position and when the ball was worked wide Jordan Burns fed Sean Sabutey who dived over in the corner for the third try.
On 33 minutes there was a great burst from Stevie Scholey and a simple lay-off put Malik Steele in for the try.
Burns rounded off the scoring just before half-time when he finished off some smart handling near the line, and the tie was already in the bag.
Hurst, who had opened the scoring, was also the one who started the second-half avalanche of points after only two minutes and it was soon a question of damage limitation for Ince Rose Bridge.

Steele was next to get over on 46 minutes when he finished off another smart move, stepping out of the final tackle by Bridge full-back Peter Valentine.
The momentum was still with Town as Ince Rose looked weary and Craig Barnes went over and the half century was reached when Barnes strode through impressively again for a try which Walker converted.
On 69 minutes though, Town lost their clean sheet. A determined charge at the corner by winger Ben Holcroft got him over despite the attention of several defenders. Valentine added the conversion.

But it was Town who finished strongly as Key came on the bang to take a pass and charge over for the try on 73 minutes and then some elusive running close to the line from Walker earned him two tries.
