Eden Manor care home

A Carlisle care home has been sold to a national operator.

The £7 million purpose-built Eden Manor Care Home opened in December.

It was operated by Silk Healthcare and owned by Angela Swift Developments.

The home, on Langrigg Road overlooking Chances Park, is an 80-bed home providing specialist residential care.

Now, Lovett Care Ltd has completed the acquisition of the home from Angela Swift Developments.

Lovett Care Ltd said: “The existing team will remain in place and will benefit from an increase in their hourly rate thanks to the Lovett Care Group commitment to paying the real living wage. The home will continue to be an integral part of the local community and support those looking for care.

Chief Executive Keith Crockett added: “We are delighted to welcome the residents and our new colleagues at Eden Manor Care Home in Carlisle to the Lovett Care family.

This is a key milestone in our long-term strategy and consistent with our commitment to deliver the best quality care in attractive market locations.”

Angela Swift said: “We are delighted that Eden Manor is now in the reliable hands of Lovett Care who share our values, our standards, our compassions and above all our care for the residents for whom Eden Manor is home. The home will continue to strive and be a success with Lovett Care”

Lovett Care Ltd currently operates nine homes in the North West and Wales.
