Workington Finches appear to have missed-out on playing at Twickenham after an RFU decision to move their final to Worcester.
The Ladies from Workington and Avonmouth were due to meet in the National Junior Plate Final at the home of English rugby on the week-end of April 30/May 1.
But the RFU have now announced the Ladies finals will take place at the Worcester Warriors old ground the Sixways Stadium.
The Finches had beaten Lichfield Green Ladies 15-10 with a dramatic last gasp win at the Ellis Sports Ground on Sunday, March 5 while Avonmouth produced an equally thrilling 39-36 win at Welwyn Ladies.
In fact it was Avonmouth who heard of the change of heart by thew RFU and have subsequently been in touch with the Workington Ladies, who are now united in trying to change this decision.

Both clubs have written to the RFU complaining while the Finches have written to their local MP in trying to get the decision reversed.
An Avonmouth spokesperson said: “Since hearing the news myself and the Ladies Coaches/Captains have behind the scenes written letters/emails etc to ask why this decision would have been made and why it was made without participants being made aware sooner.
“We have also been in close contact with our opponents for the final Workington Zebra Finches who were unaware of the decision made.
“They have also written to the RFU and their local MP for advise on how this could be best dealt with. Untimely as always the news was discovered the week of International Women’s Day which I’m sure wont sit well with many. We await a response from the RFU.”
The week-end has been set aside for a series of finals at various levels from the men’s and ladies game, and showpiece appearances at Twickenham. But only for the men it would appear!
