Litter louts have left rubbish at the top of Helvellyn.
Fell Top Assessors, while out on their daily climb to assess the weather conditions, found the litter left by the seating area of Helvellyn’s summit shelter.
In a tweet, Jon Bennett, the longest serving assessor who is now in his 15th season, said: “Whatever happened to ‘take only photographs and leave only footprints’?
“Rubbish under stones removed from the other side of the seating area of Helvellyn’s summit shelter. I’ll take a bag to remove it tomorrow but please also help if you are there.”
