March trials in the HTA have resumed as the weather started to warm up and after a couple of venues had to be cancelled.
Kirkbride have held two March trials with the first puppy race being won by Embrace who had been unlucky at the last Buttermere trail when it got stuck at the last fence, otherwise it was more than likely would have won.
Embrace is owned by Laura Steele, Andrew and Joel Bulman and Ian Rumney while Reg Smith has returned to hound trailing and took second and third place with Artist and Artisan.
Huntsman’s Rally won the senior hound race for its additional owners Glenis and Raymond Farren who now kennel and run the hound.
Malcolm and Ann Holmes’s kennel continues to run well with Sir Robert winning the All In race with Paul Airey’s Meadow Maggie finishing second.
The second Kirkbride trail saw Graham Reid’s pup Money Talks come home first in front of Neil and Gillian Brown’s, Derek and Joel Bulman’s Hey Mac and Colin Satterthwaite’s Thorn Gift in third.
The senior trail was won by Tesla, owned by Shaun and Donna Hetherington with Glenis and Raymond Farren’s Huntsman’s Rally finishing second.

On Sunday the trailing action moved up north to Newcastleton. This is a new venue to the HTA as a result of the Borders Association coming in with them.
There was a good turn out of hounds and it was Laura Steele, Andrew and Joel Bulman and Ian Rumney’s Embrace who came home first for its second win in the March trails.
Embrace was followed home by litter mates Rodney Raider owned by Nicola McMaster and David Todhunter and Silver Dream owned by Darren and Julie McMaster and Anthony Skelton.
David Clifford’s hound Eden Rayna won the senior hounds followed home by Shaun and Donna Hetherington’s Splendid Lily. with Malcolm and Ann Holmes’s Sweet Dreams finishing third.
