Contrasting results in Workington and District Sunday League

There were only two games in the Workington and District Sunday League this week – with contrasting results!

Champions Northside blitzed the Sun Inn, winning 15-0 while Dearham Commercial just managed to pip Senhouse Street 3-2.

Northside, who will have one eye on their big County Cup semi-final with Scotby on April 2, were just too strong for Sun Inn who have struggled this season to show their usual consistency.

Callum Killick led the way for the Workington side by scoring six times while Tommy Whitehead claimed a hat-trick and Jamie Bramley bagged a brace.

Also on target for the champions were Jamie Glover, Chad Grisedale, Jake Wright and Jaden Scott.

Senhouse Street have been showing improvement and they gave Dearham a good battle before going down by the odd goal in five.

Chris Williams and Paul Brown were the scorers for Senhouse while goals from Steven Stoddart (2) and Jack Brown gave Dearham the points.

Northside now lead the table on goal difference from Blue Bell but have two games in hand while Dearham are in fourth but seven points behind the top side from the same number of games.

Three games are scheduled for this Sunday, all in the League – Dearham Commercial v Sun Inn; Northside v Rangers and Sun Inn Athletic v Maryport Athletic.
