A Cumbrian businesswoman has been nominated for a national business award.
Caroline Howsley, of Cumbria Deaf Association, has been nominated in the positivity category of the Women’s Business Awards.
Caroline said: “Being nominated is recognition of the work that I and the team deliver to support the deaf community in Cumbria. Our work is a balance between community engagement and campaigning to improve access and understanding to the wider community.
“I joined CDA just over two years ago and found that my experience with hearing loss is common but still not readily supported. My goal is to ensure that employers, organisations and people in Cumbria get the right support, at the right time and in the right way to make Cumbria the most deaf aware county in England.”
The awards are hosted by Women’s Business Club, a movement that empowers women to succeed in business.
The Women’s Business Awards take place in December.
