Cycling legend Sir Bradley Wiggins is getting ready to visit Workington’s Carnegie Theatre and Arts Centre.
The Tour de France winner and multi-winning Olympic gold medallist will be giving a talk at the venue discussing his career, how he got into cycling and other topics.
A limited group of VIP ticket-holders will also be able to meet Sir Bradley, with photo opportunities and an exclusive drinks reception taking place.
Manager Cheryl Hewetson, who arranged the visit by Sir Bradley, is thrilled with the line-up.
She said: “The Carnegie is an incredible venue and we’re really putting ourselves on the map thanks to the hard work of our incredible team. We are a venue for everyone, and the increasingly varied programme of performances, talks, screenings, community events, and casual events in the bar are a true reflection of that.”
Sir Bradley, who competed professionally between 2001 and 2016 has a host of accolades to his name alongside his Olympic and Tour de France successes.
He is the only rider to have won both World and Olympic championships on track and road and he has held the world record in team pursuit on multiple occasions as well as the record as Great Britain’s most decorated Olympian.
Sir Bradley will visit the theatre on September 5. Tickets go on sale at 11.30am on Friday.
