A multi-million-pound project to improve a danger junction on the A595 has slowed down due to bad weather.
Work began on the junction between Bothel and Torpenhow in February and aims to improve the quality of the roads, reduce travel times, improve reliability, safety, and resilience of journeys.
Cumberland Council, which took on the project from Cumbria County Council, said due to recent wet weather, progress had been slowed.
The work is now estimated to be completed at the end of next month.
Construction of the Torpenhow junction is part of the Get Building Fund, administered by the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership.
The construction value is estimated to be around £2.6 million with wider land, legal and development costs taking the project budget to around £3.6 million.
