The prestigious Cumberland Cup has a new sponsor for the 2023 season in Firpress Printers.
The competition gets underway this week-end and the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL are pleased to have obtained a new sponsor for the launch.
Paul Williamson, head of Firpress, said: “We were delighted to step in and sponsor the Cumberland Cup. Indeed we consider it an honour to be able to put our name on what is one of the oldest continuously played rugby league competitions in the world.
“We hope that this is the first of many years sponsorship of this historic knock-out competition.”
This year’s competition opens tonight with a quarter final tie – Cockermouth Titans v Egremont Rangers A.
The other quarter final tie on Saturday is Maryport v Kells A when there are also two preliminary round ties – Glasson Rangers v Hensingham A and Wath Brow Hornets A v Lowca.
