
Velo Club Cumbria’s series of evening time trials started this week with Alastair Robinson winning the Embleton 10-mile time trial.
Keswick-based Robinson beat a strong field of local riders, completing the rolling 10-mile course in perfect weather conditions in a time of 21 minutes and 10 seconds.
Robinson beat 2022 Club Champion Luke Johnston by 35 seconds while newcomer Craig Mounsey was third in a time of 22.10, narrowly pipping Jude Davison by a second.
The fastest road bike rider was Dean Newton in an impressive time of 23.10, whilst fastest female rider was Rachael Maxwell in 27.48.
VCC’s club time trials continue on Tuesday, May 2 with the 16-mile Circuit of Bassenthwaite Lake. The sign-on is from 6pm on the minor road by the Pheasant Inn at Dubwath.
