A hen party has been left with a story to remember after an early morning encounter with Cockermouth firefighters.
Crews were called at around 5.45am on Saturday May 6 after a fire broke out in the Cockermouth accommodation the hens were staying in.
The group were woken up by the sound of a fire alarm going off.
Seven crew members attended and all members of the hen party were able to safely evacuate the building.
A spokesman for Cockermouth Fire Station said: “Luckily they were woken by the fire alarm and are all safe and well.
